Our Senior School

'The school fulfils its aim to provide a collaborative and encouraging environment…   Enthusiastic and passionate teaching enables pupils of all ages and abilities to enjoy their work and make good progress.'  ISI Integrated Inspection November 2014

Education should have in view the realisation of all aspects of a pupil’s potential and at Hampshire Collegiate School it is crucial to us that we reflect a respect for a pupil’s uniqueness.  We strive to seek out and celebrate the achievements of all, not just a select few, through a myriad of pursuits and endeavours.

Surrounded by historic grounds of unrivalled beauty, HCS is wonderfully placed to create a supportive and harmonious environment where each individual can flourish in a wide range of challenges supported by extensive facilities to aid learning in its broadest sense.

There is a strong commitment to providing your children with an inspiring academic experience through imaginative teaching that stimulates and inspires intellectual curiosity.  Staff share a desire to foster relationships of mutual trust and respect with their classes and are relentless in their pursuit of enabling all pupils to achieve their potential.

We can boast of a pastoral system which infiltrates the entire fabric of the school to encourage the development of self-awareness, self discipline, compassion and tolerance.

Our school motto ‘vita studia una’, life and learning are one, or life is for learning, encompasses our desire to develop in our pupils personal autonomy and responsibility, the ambition to achieve personal levels of excellence, a sense of service to others and the self confidence to think for oneself.  Whether boarder or day pupil here, each individual is valued and encouraged to prepare themselves fully for life after school.

Please do come and discover all that HCS has to offer your family.  You are most welcome to visit on one of our Open Days or at any other time that is convenient.
